Time (long & short)

 AUTHORS NOTE:

Written in 2019. This was a school assignment where we had to write the same poem in a long formant and a short format. They are both displayed here but it's about the same thing so feel free to read one or the other if you want

LONG

Sometimes we think time

Stops when it doesn’t,

But time still moves

Forward because of the world

Still spins around with

Us, like one minute

The world is a beautiful

Place made of wonder,

And the next it

Is all crumbling down

Before your eyes,

Something that was yours

Now is taken from

Your hands, without a

Blink of an eye,

And the known becomes

The unknown, Since you

gave hope, Now there

is no hope, Only sadness

 and loneliness Because your

thoughts were Impure but

 that won’t Stop the

pain from Flooding down

 your bloodstream, As your

brain begins To alter

 itself dark, And all

that is left Is the

 The illusion of Right, just

 for the Sake of human

preservation, But there is

 only one way to

take the Hit, with

strength and Perseverance as

 the waves Roll in,

just in Time for

the rocks To crumble

 at your Feet, like

the words Unspoken, laughing

 at your Pain and mistakes

in the ruble, And missing this object,

This friend that has

Been close, could cause

destruction.

SHORT

Sometimes we think time stops.
It doesn’t.
Time Still moves on.
One minute, life is great.
The next, it’s crumbling.
Something is taken from you.
In the blink of an eye.
The known becomes unknown.
Now there is sadness and loneliness.
Your thoughts were impure.
That won’t stop the pain.
It’s flooding down your bloodstream.
Your brain begins to alter to dark.
All that is left is the illusion of right.
For the sake of human preservation.
There’s only one way to take the hit.
With strength.
The waves roll in.
Just in time for the rocks to crumble.
Like words unspoken.
They laugh at your pain and mistakes.
Missing this object, this friend, could cause destruction.
